There is an option on the ‘status bar’ tab of the options screen (AX button – Extra – Options), that some people think that doesn’t work: Show AOS name.
You can see what I mean on the screenshot below.
Also note that this doesn’t really show the AOS you are connected to, it merely shows the value you specified in the instance name field in your configuration.
So does this functionality work? Yes, but not as you’d expect.

That is good to know. Can you change the order that items show up in the status bar?
Thx

This use useful, but I was wondering how you would turn this on for a large group of users. I have looked though groups to see if I can enable for the group, but it would be even nicer if I could make this a default option for all users, and even as you create a new user. Any way to do this?

Hi Yasir,
I’m not exactly sure what you mean. If you want to customize the status bar by adding you own field, I don’t know of any method to do that.

Hi Yasir,
Have you figured out how to add our own field to the status bar on AX??

We have several development environments. For each we have an icon where we add “-development -aos2=AOSSERVER:2712”
This is quite useless for us, as we don’t use the configuration utility to change our environment. Any other solution for developers to know where are they working?

Jack,
You just need that:
“development -aos2=MyAOSName@AOSSERVER:2712”
