The everyday life of a Dynamics AX developer

Hi, thank you for visiting my blog.
My name is Klaas Deforche, and I’m a Technical Consultant for Microsoft Dynamics AX at RealDolmen, one of the leading ICT companies in Belgium and I’ve been working there since 2007.
Back in 2007, we were working with AX 4.0 and 3.0 for some customers including an internal implementation for RealDolmen. With AX 2009, my focus was more on customers in the Retail sector, working on customizations and interfacing.
At the moment, I am working exclusively with AX 2012, creating a solution for customers in the Healthcare sector, focusing on the Belgian market.
I try to focus on creating frameworks for other developers to use and build upon. To achieve this I stay true to best practices and OO principals, and develop using design patterns. It’s fun to do especially when you can get other people enthusiastic about developing this way.
In late December 2012, a book I co-authored was released: “Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Services”. It was a great way to reach more people and spread knowledge, and also a great learning experience.
Writing takes up a lot of time, but when I have the time I also try to be active on the Dynamics Community forum and Stack Overflow, and of course blog on this blog.
